Rules in Assembly

Motherboard

A.Jumper setting
Ex. CMOS JUMPER

This is the CMOS JUMPER that you will find on your board
it is a 3 pins that is close on the CMOS battery

1 means it is the pin 1
if the setting of the pin is 1-2 NORMAL
pins 2-3 it means CMOS clear or Password Clear.

This is the IDE CONNECTOR interface.

IDE1 Primary Master/Primary Slave

IDE2 Secondary Master/Secondary Slave

This is the IDE BELT
the color in the right side of the belt indiacates pin1.

The color light Blue on the Board is the SATA port

This is the SATA Cable

Note: What is the difference between? ATA and SATA?
ATA- When you installed a hard disk on your board you had to set the jumper settings on it. either master or slave and sometimes it cannot be detected. other hard disk is not compatible on master or slave or the problem is on your ide belt or worst is on your ide connector.
SATA - thats why sata is now been out for new Mother boards it is auto detect to master or slave and fast file transfer.

Front Panel Connectors

Codes

1.PWR SW / AI_SW / PWR ON / PWR BT / PS-ON / POW ON / - indicates Power switch *2pins
2.RESET / RST - indicates Reset switch *2pins
3.PWR LED - Power Led *2pins
4.HDD LED / IDE LED - Hard disk Led *2pins
5.SPK / SPKR - Internal Speaker *2 to 4 pins.

What is a Computer?

A computer is a programmable machine. The two principal characteristics of a computer are: it responds to a specific set of instructions in a well-defined manner and it can execute a prerecorded list of instructions (a program).

Modern computers are electronic and digital. The actual machinery -- wires, transistors, and circuits -- is called hardware; the instructions and data are called software.
All general-purpose computers require the following hardware components:

  • memory: enables a computer to store, at least temporarily, data and programs.
  • mass storage device: allows a computer to permanently retain large amounts of data. Common mass storage devices include disk drives and tape drives.
  • input device: usually a keyboard and mouse, the input device is the conduit through which data and instructions enter a computer.
  • output device: a display screenprinter, or other device that lets you see what the computer has accomplished.
  • central processing unit (CPU): the heart of the computer, this is the component that actually executes instructions.
